Mayfair art gallery

Fast-track luxury gallery fit out
Our client was opening a new art gallery space on London’s prestigious Old Bond Street. With the opening event already set, our challenge was to deliver an impeccable fit out for a seamless client handover and launch in just 11 weeks. The tight timeline meant we had to closely manage the project fit out programme. Coordinating the international logistics to source the premium materials was critical. Turnea’s careful planning enabled us to achieve the high-quality finish demanded by both client and architect.
Retail fit out, Japanese design
The gallery design, led by an architect based in (Switzerland), features rich light wood tones that reflect Japanese design principles. The architect handpicked and commissioned luxury joinery items such as the ceilings and doors from around the world.
International logistics
A key part of Turnea‘s work involved managing complex international supply chains for bespoke furniture and timber elements. The wood veneer bookshelves showcased this process, with materials sourced from Italy, crafted by our team in Romania, and installed in the UK. Similarly, the ceilings and doors, were sourced from Japan.
Quality joinery, London retail fit out
Delivering high quality joinery was a key factor in this project’s success, so we employed our joinery specialist based in Romania, a supplier we’ve worked with regularly, due to his quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. The primary challenge was coordinating joiners from Japan and from Romania with our UK team who had to construct the walls that the joinery would be attached to. The bookcases were built using tabu veneer, a high-quality veneer from Italy, and the Japanese-style doors were constructed from solid wood and spray painted.
A successful opening
We handed the gallery over on time in preparation for its launch event.
